FIELD: step-by-step mechanisms without freewheel members.
SUBSTANCE: Maltese mechanism has Maltese cross and eccentric which are interacted with each other. The shaft of the eccentric is provided with the gear pulley for permitting radial movement. The pulley is kinematically connected with the other gear pulley through the gear belt and with the driving mechanism eccentrically mounted on the driving shaft for permitting radial movement. The gear belt is tightened under the action of the rollers engaging it.
