SUBSTANCE: method involves determining ferritin content in blood serum before beginning treatment course and at the 4-6 day after beginning the treatment. Ferritin concentration being reduced to 280-350 ng/l in gastric peptic ulcer cases and to 360-400 ng/l in duodenal peptic ulcer cases, ulceration is predicted to develop without complications.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of prognosis.
