FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thrust bearing unit of turbocompressor for supercharging internal combustion engines or to power turbines, and it can be used in other vane machines. Proposed thrust bearing unit excludes contact of working friction surfaces in thrust bearing unit which decreases load and reduces wear. According to invention, in thrust bearing unit of turbocompressor for supercharging internal combustion engine containing thrust bearing proper, its spacer bushing and coil deflecting shield, thrust bearing which is self-aligned in process of rotation of machine rotor adjoins from one side through its upper end face surface to stator and thrust at opposite side against stepped flat thrust surface of upper part of oil deflecting shield, while oil deflecting shield proper made in form of thin-walled shield is rigidly secured on stator members of machine.
EFFECT: increased service life, improved reliability and operating capabilities of thrust bearing unit and machine as a whole.
