CAVITY GATE OF APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUS PROCESSING OF THIN ENDLESS PRODUCT Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2249635 C2

FIELD: sealing gate preferably adapted for furnace used for manufacture of fabric from carbon fibers by continuous carbonization of fabric made from material basic for carbon.

SUBSTANCE: sealing gate has longitudinal channel open at first end of gate, said end being connected to either inlet end or to outlet end of processing chamber, and also open at its second end opposite said first end. Gate is equipped with supporting surface, which is arranged inside longitudinal channel and through which endless product may pass between gate ends, and static sealing means providing for sealing upon contacting with endless product movable through channel along supporting surface. Static sealing means comprise at least one flexible inflatable member arranged above supporting surface, transverse to channel. Dynamic sealing means are arranged in channel between second end of cavity and static sealing means and include device for supplying gas under pressure into at least one chamber defined in said channel.

EFFECT: increased sealing extent without creating of aerodynamic perturbation inside cavity and provision for keeping predetermined pressure inside cavity without occurrence of unfavorable tension in product.
