FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises generating local magnetic field in the parts of the waveguide, which are located in the different phases and sound velocity in which strongly depends on the liquid level, and tracing the local magnetic field which copies the liquid level moving along the waveguide length. The magnetic field is generated with the discrete permanent magnets securely mounted on the guide. The waveguide is made of an anti-ferromagnetic with low conductivity, strong dependence of the sound velocity on the magnitude of the magnetic field, with Neel temperature exceeding the boiling temperature of the liquid. The surface of the waveguide is provided with heat-insulating ring spacers arranged throughout the length of the waveguide. The spacers are provided with ring permanent magnets with the shell made of the ferromagnetic material whose Curie temperature is close to the boiling temperature of the liquid. The waveguide defines shielding ferromagnetic sound-transmitting baffles.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measuring.
