FIELD: production of phenol-formaldehyde resins useful as adhesive composition, binding agent, paint-vehicle material and grouting material components.
SUBSTANCE: claimed method includes condensation of phenol containing component with formaldehyde. As phenol containing component filtrate water from crystallization step of biphenylolpropane manufacturing is used. Said component contains (mass %): phenol 35-50; water 6-10; 4,4'-dioxydiphenyl-2,2'-propane 25-40; 2,4'-dioxydiphenyl-2,2'-propane 10-20, and oligomer products 1-2. Method of present invention is useful in plywood, laminated plastic production, as well as in oil and gas producing industry, etc.
EFFECT: inexpensive raw materials, namely, industrial by-products; resins of high properties and wide range of applicability.
