FIELD: metallurgy; complex reworking of industrial wastes; selective extraction of iron and manganese from industrial wastes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method of reworking of polymetallic industrial wastes includes treatment of solutions with lime milk and separation of sediment and solution. Treatment with lime milk is performed in three stages: at first stage at pH=3.0-4.5; at second stage at pH=3.5-5.5 in presence of hypochlorous acid to oxidizing-reducing potential of 380-520 mV; then iron-containing sediment is separated from solution and is treated at pH=6.5-8.5 to oxidizing-reducing potential of 600-1200 mV, after which pulp is filtered, manganese-containing sediment is separated from solution, washed and dried.
EFFECT: increased selective extraction of iron and manganese; improved cleaning of Fe from Mn and Mn from Fe.
