PRESTARTING HEATING SYSTEM OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND HYDRAULIC DRIVE OF ROAD-BUILDING MACHINES Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; prestarting heating systems.

SUBSTANCE: proposed prestarting heating system of internal combustion engine and hydraulic drive of road-building machine consists of engine prestarting heating circuit and hydraulic drive prestarting heating circuit. Engine circuit consists of internal combustion engine, two chamber heat accumulator, exhaust gas heat exchanger, liquid diesel heater, pump connected with cooling system of internal combustion engine. Heat accumulator consists of inner chamber arranged inside outer chamber. Inner chamber is filled with water under pressure and it accommodates heat exchanger of heat carrier connected by hydraulic line with exhaust gas heat exchanger. With road-building machine operating, antifreeze heated in exhaust gas heat exchanger circulates through heat carrier heat exchanger and heats water inside to 120-130°C. Hydraulic drive prestarting heating circuit consists of hydraulic tank accommodating exhaust gas heat exchanger, pump, hydraulic distributor, hydraulic cylinder, additional hydraulic line with valve connecting rod and working spaces of hydraulic cylinder.

EFFECT: reduced time taken for prestarting heating and provision of reliable starting of internal combustion engine and road-building machine hydraulic drive after long idling under low ambient temperatures.
