FIELD: nonsplit contact joints in distribution-network cable box.

SUBSTANCE: proposed apparatus has cylindrical conducting housing designed to accommodate naked ends of cable conductors to be joined and provided with internally threaded holes receiving pressure screws holding down cable conductors to inner supporting surfaces of housing under action of increasing pressure in screw-contact joint; conducting housing also has two blind (non-through) holes disposed eccentrically with respect to center of cylinder axis; outlines of these hole bottoms are shaped as part of ellipse or circle, lengths of holes are equal and each amounts to less than half the length of housing proper; hole diameter corresponds to diameter of conductors being joined; internally threaded holes for hold-down members are made in most part of cross-sectional area of housing; hold-down member is of straight truncated cone shape in longitudinal section which provides for mechanical destruction in smallest cross-sectional area of conical part at the moment of maximal pressure within screw-contact joint; outline of contact surface bottom of hold-down member is ellipse- or circle-shaped; microchannels holding oxygen from housing interior atmosphere are filled with paste-like compound based on binder in the form of adhesive mass with dispersed filler whose electricity conducting properties are similar or close to those of cable conductors and apparatus housing.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability of holding down cable conductors and effectiveness of junction.
