FIELD: plastic metal working.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for sizing welded pipes of large diameter by expanding. Proposed method includes feeding of pipe cyclically at preset step to sizing tool of expander and its expansion at each cycle by means of sizing tool. During cycle which follows first cycle pipe is turned through angle whose value corresponds to value of deviation of pipe axis from straightness on section whose length is equal to pipe feed step at each cycle of expanding. Device is provided with holder with rollers on end face of sizing tool, axis of rotation of holder coincides with axis of sizing tool. Rollers are installed for movement in radial direction.

EFFECT: improved quality owing to provision of stability of geometric dimensions.
