FIELD: transport engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed muffler contains box chamber in middle part of which longitudinal partition with holes-divider is installed. Partition is rectangular and is provided with longitudinal chute and four holes in corners whose summary area is equal to 0.1-0.2 of total area of partition. Damping of exhaust has noise in muffler is effected owing to conversion of its energy into thermal energy, kinematic energy of coherent vortex structures in gas flow and turbulent energy according to type of turbulization of exhaust gas flow.

EFFECT: reduced noise of operation of saw engine within the range of prevailing frequencies of 100-1200 Hz.
