FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting stems and laying cut stems onto windrow forming conveyor, followed by discharging and laying said stems into windrow. During discharging, stems are simultaneously laid partly onto flow cutoff grid fingers and partly onto stubble without delivering of dynamic strike. Apparatus has winder, cutter bar, windrow forming conveyor, and plant mass flow cutoff device formed as finger-type grid located in horizontal position. Grid fingers are made in the form of rectangular sections curved at an angle of 135°. Bushings with fingers are mounted on bar formed as shaft. Fingers are positioned for displacement along bar in horizontal plane and in conjunction with bar in vertical plane. Number of fingers on bar may be adjusted depending on linear density of windrow and quantity of stubble stem stand.
EFFECT: increased stability of grain heap windrow on stubble.
