METHOD FOR REINFORCEMENT OF ARTICLES HAVING VARIABLE LENGTHWISE SECTION Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2263717 C1

FIELD: plastic working of metals, in particular, reinforcement of parts having variable section lengthwise thereof and exposed to thermal processing.

SUBSTANCE: method involves depressing rolls in part mid portion by applying radial force Pf; applying axial pushing force Pz to end of part adjoining head toward which rolling motion is provided for pushing article through roll pass up to recess portion while reinforcing the latter for passage; bringing rolls apart; returning article to initial position and simultaneously turning the latter around its longitudinal axis through an angle specified by processing program; performing remaining passages in above sequence, during which first half of article is reinforced; turning article through an angle of 180 deg around vertical axis and providing reinforcement rolling of second half of article in above sequence, with pushing force Pz being applied to head toward which processing is provided; performing low-temperature ageing after termination of reinforcement rolling operation.

EFFECT: wider range of articles to be reinforced and improved quality of reinforcement.
