METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF SKELPS OUT OF LOW-ALLOY STEEL Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: metallurgy; production of rolled low-alloy steel skelps.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of metallurgy, in particular, to production of rolled low-alloy steel skelps and may be used at manufacture by continuous broad-strip mills of skelps for the electrowelded casing pipes intended to equip oil and gas boreholes in the northern seismic areas. The method provides for heating of slabs, their rolling in skelps at the regulated temperature of the end of the rolling, water cooling up to the temperature of reeling. The technical result of the invention is improvement of the quality of skelps and the skelps yield. For realization of the technical result the heating of slabs is exercised up to the temperature of 1220-1280°C, the temperature of the end of rolling keep within the range of 820-880°C, and the temperature of reeling set depending on the share of carbon in the steel according to the ratio: on a parity: T_r=[C]·10³ + (390±30), where T_r - the temperature of reeling, °C; [C] - the share of carbon in the steel, in mass %. The skelps rolling is realized out of a low-alloy steel containing, in mass %: 0.15-0.24 C; 0.20-0.70 Mn; 0.10-0.40 Si; 0.01-0.07 Al; 0.01-0.08 Nb; no more than 0.4 Cr; no more than 0.4 Ni; no more than 0.4 Cu; no more than 0.020 P; no more than 0.010 S; no more than 0.012 N; the rest - Fe.

EFFECT: the invention ensures improvement of the skelps quality and yield.
