FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly manufacture of rod parts with heads.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing portion of heated measure blank in movable die spring-loaded in axial direction and forming thickened portion. Die is mounted with possibility of motion in direction coinciding with that of punch motion. Additional step is realized for forming rod due to placing portion of blank in one-piece die with technological gap. Before forming thickened portion and rod, free heading of the whole blank is performed. Then die is moved and simultaneously first stage of heading thickened portion and step of rod forming by closed heading are realized. Closed heading is performed due to moving portion of blank in direction inverse relative to motion direction of punch and die. Then thickened portion is headed in fixed position of die.
EFFECT: possibility for making rod parts with thickened portion by means of simple technological tooling in high-speed automatic presses.
