FIELD: chemistry of polymers, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing statistical copolymers of propylene and ethylene oxides with enhanced viscosity by the oxyalkylation reaction of the hydroxyl-containing parent substance with a mixture of propylene and ethylene oxides in the presence of an alkaline catalyst at increased temperature. As the hydroxyl-containing parent substance method involves using oxypropylated polyethers with a hydroxyl number 100-800 mg of KOH/g under condition of maintaining the mass ratio propylene oxide : ethylene oxide = (20-40):(60-80) in the oxyalkylation process. Also, invention relates to a thickening addition agent. Invention provides improving low-temperature properties of statistical copolymers of propylene and ethylene oxides and to prepare a thickening addition agent on their base that shows low solidification point.
EFFECT: improved preparing method, improved properties of copolymers.
