FIELD: analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to indicator compositions and can be used in determination of cobalt (II) in aqueous solutions, in particular, in sewage and industrial solutions. Indicator composition for determination of cobalt (II) in aqueous solutions comprises nitroso-R-salt, water; as a sorbent it comprises cation-exchange resin KB-4P-2, and sodium acetate as a substance of medium, and these components are taken in the following ratio, wt.-%: cation-exchange resin KB-4P-2, 0.4; sodium acetate, 0.03; nitroso-R-salt, 0.0011, and water, the balance. Invention provides reducing volume of a sample and time for carrying out analysis with simultaneous enhancing sensitivity and selectivity of the procedure.
