MOVING-COIL LOUDSPEAKER Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC H04R9/06

Abstract RU 2272366 C2

FIELD: electroacoustics; high-frequency sound reproduction, mainly in intermediate-frequency range.

SUBSTANCE: proposed moving-coil loudspeaker has moving system incorporating cone with voice coil installed in radial cylindrical gap of magnetic circuit. The latter has annular permanent magnet and pivot. This pivot mounts phase-equalizing device with ribs on its surface. Butt-end part of phase-equalizing device is disposed within cone. This part of phase-equalizing device is flat and has conical depression with vortex inside phase-equalizing device. Ribs are disposed along lateral surface of depression. In some cases height of ribs decreases toward cone vortex and phase-equalizing device is made of heat-conducting material, such as aluminum.

EFFECT: enhanced sound quality due to smoothing frequency response in high-frequency range; enhanced stability of loudspeaker characteristics.
