VIBRATION-ACOUSTIC EMISSION SIGNAL SIMULATING METHOD AT CUTTING AND BREAKING CUTTING TOOL, APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING THE METHOD Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC B23B49/00 G01N3/58

Abstract RU 2273549 C2

FIELD: machine engineering, possibly visual aid for studying systems of diagnostics of cutting process with use of vibration-acoustic emission in cutting zone.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of amplifying wide-band high-frequency signal and subjecting it to low-frequency filtration. Noise signal whose spectrum is similar to that of vibration-acoustic emission at cutting in stationary cutting modes is used as wide band high-frequency signal. Then low-frequency sine signal whose frequency control band corresponds to that of revolution number control of drive unit of main motion of metal cutting machine tool is generated. Half-period of said sine signal is set equal to period of one revolution of worked part. Full-wave rectifier is used for rectifying sine signal from which positive wave halves are cut off for simulating change of arc of cut sector of part at variable cutting depth in range 0 - 360°. Said noise signal is modulated by means of rectified signal for simulating unstable cutting mode. Signal similar to surge of vibration-acoustic emission signal is generated with use of HF-generator at fragile breakage of cutting tool and such signal is summed with modulated noise signal. Then level of modulated noise signal is stepwise increased or decreased relative to previous level and formed signal is registered as signal used for simulating process of breaking cutting tool in unstable cutting modes.

EFFECT: shortened time period for developing apparatus for vibration-acoustic diagnostics of cutting process due to multiple reproduction of transient signals similar to vibration-acoustic emission signals at breakage of cutting tool in stable and unstable cutting modes.
