FIELD: mechanical engineering; materials handling facilities.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for transportation of loose ferromagnetic materials, particularly, in rolling, for removing separated scale from surfaces of sheets and strips in rolling mill lines and slitters. Proposed magnetic conveyor includes frame, electric drive, driving and idling drums and two conveyors arranged coaxially relative to each other with possibility of tight contact ob belts. Inner conveyor is furnished with rubber magnetic belt or rubber belt with permanent magnets secured in belt in staggered order. Driving and idling drums of conveyors are installed on common frame, outer conveyor is furnished with drive and two chain trains, one of which sets into rotation driving drum of inner conveyor, and the other, brush tightly pressed to surface of belt of outer conveyor with rotation in opposite direction. Nozzles connected with compressed air main line are installed in zone of contact of brush with belt of outer conveyor. Belt of outer conveyor can be rubberized-cloth, rubber-wire or metal one made of nonmagnetic material.
EFFECT: simplified design of conveyor, no friction when belt moves over surface of magnets.
