FIELD: manufacture of tubes.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises feeding the tubes for the spiral stiffening along the axis of the drum pivotally connected to supports, squeezing the tubes over the side by means of bearing surfaces of two groups of pressing rollers, control of squeezing force, and setting the tubes in rotation by means of the drum rotated by a drive to provide spiral stiffening. The drive is set in operation simultaneously with the drive for longitudinal movement and welding head. One of the groups of the pressing rollers squeezes the tubes to center them with in the drum. The second group of the pressing rollers squeezes the tubes over the side to provide a force on their contact areas that somewhat lower the yield point of the tube material. This group of the rollers is used for both transmitting torque to the tubes during the rotation of the drum and longitudinal movement of the tubes. The description of the device for the realization of the method is presented.
