FIELD: magnesium oxide production processes and equipment.

SUBSTANCE: process comprises steps of cleaning brine and step of separating magnesium hydroxide. Step of cleaning brine comprises successively treating brine with air, with suspension of calcium hydroxide and with solution of sodium sulfide. Prepared suspension is passed through filter and filtrate is subjected to sorption cleaning on anionite with functional groups selective to boron for preparing cleaned brine. Magnesium hydroxide is separated by treating cleaned brine with suspension of calcium hydroxide at presence of sodium hydroxide. Prepared suspension of magnesium hydroxide is subjected to classifying in rising flow for separating particles of magnesium hydroxide with size no more than 50 micrometers. Magnesium hydroxide is cleaned by successively washing it with use of solution of hydrochloric acid and deionized water. Cleaned magnesium hydroxide is subjected to drying and firing. Waste brine after washing out magnesium hydroxide with hydrochloric acid is used for preparing suspension of calcium hydroxide. Anionite is regenerated successively with use of sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid. After regeneration mixed solution is subjected to electrolysis.

EFFECT: possibility for producing high-quality magnesium oxide.
