SUBSTANCE: breaking-and-scutching machine for separating fibers from stems of treated bast-fiber comprises horizontal conveyor, breaking-and-clamping unit, pair of scutching drums and pneumatic suction system. Restricting devices are positioned along edges of scutching drum beaters. Shield is attached to rear side of each beater, said shield being capable of fixation at different angles to rear surface of beater.

EFFECT: increased efficiency by preventing protrusion of fiber beyond beater, elimination of formation of windings on shaft neck, and reduced sizes of breaking-and-scutching machine.
