FIELD: rocketry.

SUBSTANCE: proposed solid-propellant charge for guide missile rocket engine includes solid propellant grain restricted at rear end face and side surface by cellulose acetate composition. Synthetic glue-based film layer shielding surface layer is applied over restriction composition. From side of front nonrestricted end face conical groove is made on outer surface of charge to remove restricting coating. Blind central channel is made directly on front end face which terminates in semisphere of radius equal to diameter of blind central channel divided by two. Dimensions of channel and conical groove comply with relationship protected by present invention. Profile of rear end face of charge grain is made spherical. With radius equal to length of grain plus diameter of blind central channel divided by two minus depth of blind central channel. Central of said sphere coincides with center of semisphere of blind channel.

EFFECT: provision of solid-propellant charge for two thrust modes of rocket engine, namely, acceleration and cruise one, with smooth change over, low smoking and digressive residue at end of combustion of charge close to minimum.
