FIELD: plastic working of metals.

SUBSTANCE: tool includes upper and lower rolls restricting grooved pass of rolls and being in the form of disc members mounted in shafts. Tool is provided at least with one detachable disc member mounted in arbor of each roll and having parting plane in diametrical direction. Such detachable disc member may have dent in its one end and disc member may have reciprocal recess. Tuning method comprises steps of providing desired width of roll grooved pass by changing mutual arrangement of disc members due to using at least one detachable disc member with diametrical parting mounted in arbor of each roll. Target width of roll grooved pass is provided by dismounting from each arbor at least one detachable disc member, shifting along free shaft adjacent disc member and mounting behind shifted disc member dismounted detachable disc member. Target width of roll grooved pass is determined according to mathematical relation given in description of invention.

EFFECT: increased number of profile and size of ready products, improved quality of products, lowered labor consumption, shortened time period for readjusting tool.
