SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for use in twin-screw extruders with unidirectional rotation of screw. Design peculiarity of propose extruder is that each output shaft is made self-aligning and that support sliding bearings of output shafts are made with radial clearance (Δr) smaller than minimum guaranteed backlash (jmin) in meshing but greater than summary elastic deformation of idler gears (δΣ) reduced to backlash: δΣ<Δr<jmin/sin2αt at δΣ=2Pλ·sinϕi·sin2αt, P=2M/(D·cosαt) where is angle of profile in end face section, M is torque transmitted by idler gear, D is diameter of idler gear, φi is angle between sections of straight lines connecting center of idler gear with centers of driven and drive gears, λ is summary pliability of idler gear. One of idler gears in each pair is arranged symmetrically relative to output shafts, and the other is arranged diametrically opposite to first one axle of driven gear is arranged on straight line connecting centers of idler gears. Idler gear in which drive and driven profiles of teeth are pointed to each other at preset direction of rotation is installed on its axle at eccentricity e=0/5-1/5 mm.
EFFECT: provision of drive of twin-screw extruder of higher reliability, increased service life and load-bearing capacity owing to provision of uniform two-side transmission of torque to screw shafts, reduced cost of manufacture.
