FIELD: printing industry, in particular, sewing thread machines adapted for sequential securing of notebooks into book blocks by means of threads through fold lines of notebooks.

SUBSTANCE: sewing thread machine comprises mechanisms including movable table, sewing mechanism with reciprocating sewing carriage carrying sewing needles and hooks with drive for rotation thereof, thread guiding mechanism, puncturing mechanism, thread transfer mechanism, and drive for said mechanisms, said mechanisms being accommodated in casing. Drive for mechanisms is made in the form of individual pneumatic drives, preferably pneumatic cylinders connected with control unit through pneumatic distributor unit. Movable part of each pneumatic cylinder is connected with movable actuating link of associated mechanism. Shaft of pneumatic cylinder for reciprocating movement of carriage is arranged in plane perpendicular to working rib of movable table.

EFFECT: compact construction, enhanced reliability in operation, reduced costs and provision for suitable utilization in large-scale polygraphic centers as well as in small-scale publishing houses.
