LEAF SEPARATING APPARATUS FOR TOBACCO HARVESTING MACHINE Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A01D45/16 

FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, equipment for separating of tobacco leaves from stems during tobacco harvesting procedure.

SUBSTANCE: leaf separating apparatus has two finger-and-chain conveyors arranged one above another in horizontally offset relation. Conveyors are set at an angle to horizontal surface. Flexible leaf separating members are located on fingers of conveyors. Compensators positioned on outer side of conveyors are adapted for stretching of flexible leaf separating members. Each of leaf separating flexible members is made from individual plates equipped at their inner side with beveled saw-shaped teeth oriented in direction coinciding with direction of conveyors.

EFFECT: improved quality of separation of tobacco leaves from stems and reduced losses of separated leaves.
