FIELD: electrical and electromechanical engineering; large electrical machines such as turboalternators.
SUBSTANCE: proposed electrical machine has its rotor cooled with gas delivered from air gap by means of intake-deflector system and stator winding placed in its core slots wherein it is secured by means of lengthwise built-up wedges with bosses protruding to air gap area; these wedges are installed in vicinity of mentioned intakes. Installation of groups of slot wedges alternating lengthwise of stator core projecting to air gap and disposed opposite rotor winding intakes tangibly improves cooling conditions for stator and rotor windings and cores due to eliminating local effect of pressure rise at projecting wedges of stator in vicinity of rotor winding deflectors without noticeable degradation of rotor cooling conditions.
EFFECT: enhanced cooling conditions for stator and rotor windings and cores.
