FIELD: medical instrument; surgical dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: forceps can be used for removing teeth and their roots. Dental forceps have branches with jaws. Branches are connected together by means of hinge. Tube 3 has internal and external curvilinear surfaces which are made in form of arcs in longitudinal cross-section. Arcs cross at end of any jaw at point where jaws touch each other. Internal arcs of jaws cross at axis of rotation of branches. Any internal curvilinear surface has recess. Radius of internal jaws is chosen from relation 1,0≤R/L≤2,0, where R is radius of arc of longitudinal cross-section of internal surface of jaw; L is distance from axis of rotation of branches to pint where jaws touch each other. Radius of external jaws is chosen from ratio RH=1,R, where RH is radius of arc of longitudinal cross-section of external surface of jaw. Forceps provide increase in area of contact of jaws with tooth to be removed. Jaws are capable of tight contact with tooth to be removed or its root non depending on differences in shape of teeth.
EFFECT: improved comfort at work.
