FIELD: rolling; cooling of hot-tolled strip coils.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comes to cooling of coil in process of its transporting by conveyor in homogeneous air medium, delivering of liquid with heat removing properties considerably higher (by one order of magnitude) than those of surrounding cooling medium of coil to base of coil. Device for cooling hot-rolled strip in coils contains, in additional to known coil displacement mechanisms in air medium, contains devices to feed more effective coolant to coil base in process of its displacement, and unit to control switching on of device and intensity of coolant feed through said devices.
EFFECT: provision of intensive removal of heat from metal of middle part of coil with resulting uniform cooling of coils and reducing time of cooling.
