FIELD: tube production, namely method for making cold rolled large- and mean-diameter tubes of high accuracy of titanium base alloys from conversion welded blank.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of forming sheet blank in roll mill to conversion tube blank for rolling large diameter tubs; welding lengthwise edges of blank in argon protective atmosphere by means of consumable electrode of the same kind of alloy; subjecting conversion straight -seam tube to heat treatment and deforming it on mandrel in round roll grooved passes. Conversion straight seam tube is rolled to large diameter tube at elongation degree no less than 1.4 and at reduction degree of its no less than 20%. Invention provides possibility for producing tubes with improved accuracy of wall thickness at keeping mechanical properties corresponding to ASTM B 862-02 from welded conversion tube blank made for rolling maximum-diameter tubes instead of seamless conversion tube blanks, to decrease titanium alloy consumption factor by 2.25 - 2.5 times.
EFFECT: reduced production cost of tubes of titanium base alloys with improved accuracy of their wall thickness.
