CHANNEL FAN Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC F04D17/16 

FIELD: channel fans with radial impellers.

SUBSTANCE: proposed channel fan has housing 1, motor 2, radial impeller 3, inlet manifold 4, straightening apparatus 5 and rear fairing 6 which is connected with housing 1 by means of blades of straightening apparatus 5. Channel 8 is cylindrical in shape. Motor 2 is connected with hub 13 of impeller 3 with cover disk 10 and main disk 11 and with blades 12 bent backward. Vortex chamber 7 is provided with vortex suppressor made in form of guide apparatus with blades 26 and located between manifold 4 and disk 10. Area S of channel 8 and area S_imp of impeller 3 correspond to the following condition: S/S_imp≥2.4. Housing 1 may be sectional in structure consisting of front and rear parts where manifold 4, impeller 3, motor 2, fairing 6 and straightening apparatus 5 are mounted. Blades 7 may be flat and may be connected with disk 7 over straight line.

EFFECT: increased coefficient of total pressure with no change in productivity factor.
