FIELD: manual tools, namely hammers that may be used for removing nails or other fastening members.
SUBSTANCE: hammer includes handle with first end; hammer head secured to first end of handle and having striker with striking surface corresponding to front side of hammer; intermediate section secured to striker and having row of front extractors. Row of front extractors includes first front extractor extending in the form of cantilever practically parallel to handle and second front extractor extending the form of cantilever between handle and first front extractor. In second variant of invention intermediate section is secured to handle or to handle and to striker and it includes row of front extractors turned to front side of hammer and arranged near head of hammer. Hammer head includes striker with striking surface being front side of hammer head; intermediate section secured to striker and having row of front extractors arranged near striker and providing possibility for extracting nails. Said row of front extractors includes first front extractor extending as cantilever from intermediate section and practically parallel to striking surface; second front extractor extending as cantilever from intermediate section and practically parallel to striking surface. In other variant of invention first front extractor and second front extractor extend as cantilevers from striker and both are parallel to striking surface for extracting nails. In description of invention concrete examples of realizing hammer and its head are also given for all variants of invention. Method for extracting nail out of surface is performed by placing hammer near nail at providing contact of striking surface of hammer (being front surface of hammer) with surface from which nail is to be extracted. Then nail is gripped by means of first front extractor turned to front side of hammer and arranged near striking surface of hammer. Handle of hammer is turned relative to striking surface for partially extracting nail out of surface; nail is released from first front extractor and it is gripped by means of second front extractor turned to front side of hammer and arranged between first front extractor and handle of hammer. And then handle of hammer is turned relative to striking surface for further extraction of nail out of surface.
EFFECT: simplified process for extracting nails, improved efficiency of extraction operation.
