FIELD: shaped-charge ammunition intended for piercing of composite and homogeneous armor obstacles, equipped with a dynamic protection inclusive.
SUBSTANCE: the leader charge is positioned in an extensible cylindrical hollow rod for translational motion in its duct. Motion of the leader charge in the rod duct, locking of it at the front end of the rod and subsequent unlocking and advancing of the rod proper together with the leader charge are accomplished under the pressure of gases from the powder charge, which is placed in the cavity of the cap fastened on the bottom part of the leader charge body. On the side of the rear end the hollow rod has a rigid bottom with a central hole for passage of the cumulative jet of the main charge. A protective shield in the form of a blind thin-walled partition is fastened before the rigid bottom in the rod with formation of a fixed gap between the partition and the rod bottom. The material, thickness of the partition and the gap value determine the delay of operation of the main charge. The thin-walled partition and the rod bottom are electrically insulated from each other and connected of the contacts of the main charge via the current source. After the blast of the leader charge the partition gets deformed, as a result, an electric contact of it with the rod bottom and operation of the main charge fuse occur.
EFFECT: enhanced armor-piercing action against armored targets, having a dynamic protection inclusive.
