FIELD: forest industry, in particular, technique for cutting off limbs from trees, may be connected to self-propelled vehicle by means of respective system of loader booms.
SUBSTANCE: delimbing unit has frame construction and delimbing head. Frame construction is equipped with gripping members allowing it to be attached to tree trunk at respective height for the entire period during which delimbing operation is performed. Delimbing head is made separately from frame construction and is provided with gripping device by means of which device delimbing head grips tree trunk. Delimbing unit has drive means for moving of delimbing head along tree trunk, and at least one cutting device for cutting off limbs, and also feeding cable by means of which cable respective working tools are controlled and actuated through transmission of power needed for performing respective works, and/or controlling operation of delimbing head, and by means of which delimbing head movable along tree trunk and frame construction are connected with one another. Delimbing unit may be thus used for preliminary cutting off of undesired limbs from standing trees as well as for forest thinning and tree felling.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and wider operational capabilities.
