FIELD: machine engineering, namely apparatuses for realizing automatic operation of radial-forging machines used also for making articles of thin-wall tubes.

SUBSTANCE: clamping head-manipulator includes mechanisms for clamping and holding worked blank, rotating it during forging process, preventing its twisting and providing its elongation at forging. Clamping mechanism is mounted concentrically relative to common hollow spindle and it is in the form of clamping set of two mutually movable thin-wall and thick-wall rings joined one to other along their cone surfaces. Inner ring is joined by kinematics links with hollow spindle of manipulator with possibility of axial motion relative to it and rotation simultaneously with it and through bearing assembly it is joined with its own housing. Outer ring is joined by means of kinematics links through bearing assembly with its own housing to which at least two hydraulic cylinders are rigidly secured in such a way that their rods are rigidly joined with housing of inner thin-wall ring.

EFFECT: elimination of blank crumpling at clamping and holding it, prevention of blank turning over at squeezing.
