FIELD: electrical engineering; means for shielding insulated wires or cables against damage.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for producing insulating and shielding sheaths includes formation of threads by winding shielding metal wire on reinforcing base of nonmetal fibers followed by weaving sheath from mentioned nonmetal fibers. Reinforcing base is removed by dissolving nonmetal fibers. Sheath is woven with different directions of winding in different threads. Round-section or flat wire is used as shielding wire. Shielding sheath produced by this method is light in mass and is not subject to steaming or gassing.
EFFECT: enhanced stability of insulating, shielding, mechanical, and thermal properties of sheath under repeated impact of environmental factors.
