FIELD: agricultural engineering.
SUBSTANCE: cotton harvesting apparatus has working slit defined by spindles of two conveyors, said spindles being made in the form of shafts equipped with toothed washers and positioned for rotation without reversal, and feeding chamber. Wavy separators are positioned in gaps between adjacent spindles and toothed washers, along each conveyor, at the side of working slit. Gap between outer diameters of toothed washers of opposite and adjacent spindles defining working gap is reducing in direction opposite direction of advancement of apparatus. Gap between outer diameters of toothed washers of adjacent and opposite spindles is equal to half the average size of opened cotton boll - 32 mm. Outer diameter of toothed washer exceeds doubled average diameter of opened cotton boll. Circumferential velocity of adjacent spindles of each conveyor is increasing in direction opposite direction of advancement of cotton harvesting apparatus.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of cotton harvesting machine by providing complete picking up of cotton.
