FIELD: mining, chemical, metallurgical and other branches of industry, in particular, equipment for size separation of material discharged from, for example, first-stage grinding mills.

SUBSTANCE: drum-type classifier (versions) has drum positioned for rotation and defined by two end flanges and elastic sieving surface composed of carts, spiral positioned within drum, inner carrier drum with sieving surface perforated according to size class of waste. Drum is fixed by means of front flange on discharge throat of mill. According to one version, spiral sectors are made from metal or elastic for imparting rigidity to each cart and for providing cylindrical shape to sieving surface of outer drum, and are fixed for radial displacement within annular space between outer drum and inner carrier drum on brackets rigidly secured outside the inner carrier drum. According to other version, spiral sectors are made from metal or rubber for imparting rigidity to each cart and for providing cylindrical shape to sieving surface of outer drum and are immovably fixed within annular space between outer drum and inner carrier drum on brackets rigidly secured outside the inner carrier drum. Spiral lifters are provided on inner surface of inner carrier drum for discharging of material from process classification cycle.

EFFECT: reduced sizes of process equipment, decreased usage of metal for manufacture of process equipment, increased service life of sieving and transportation surfaces, and increased efficiency in extracting of metals from ores.
