NUCLEAR REACTOR SEPARATING DRUM Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC G21C15/18 

FIELD: nuclear power engineering; separating drums of heavy-power pressurized-tube reactors.

SUBSTANCE: proposed nuclear reactor separating drum has tank with steam-water mixture feed pipes dipped in perforated shield, and distributor. Perforated shield is mounted within tank. Switchgear is disposed above mentioned shield. Tank is provided with inner ribs. Each rib is arranged along generating line of tank. Horizontal generating line of tank crosses bottom points of cuts on steam-water mixture feed pipes. Distributor is made in the form of chutes organized between tank wall and inner ribs.

EFFECT: ability of eliminating water spread on tank wall due to organizing its directed flow by means of mechanical obstacle.
