DOWNHOLE MOTOR Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC E21B4/02

Abstract RU 2305743 C1

FIELD: drilling equipment, particularly fluid rotary type drives.

SUBSTANCE: downhole motor comprises driving section connected to spindle section through connection sub. Spindle section comprises body, hollow output shaft, upper half-coupling connected with hollow output shaft and provided with windows for working fluid ingress in hollow output shaft. Spindle section also has axial bearing, spaced upper and lower radial bearings installed to provide hollow output shaft rotation. Connection sub is opposite to windows and spaced therefrom to provide working fluid flow into hollow output shaft. Connection sub has inner channels and may selectively close windows during motor operation.

EFFECT: decreased downhole motor length, decreased drilling costs and reduced downhole motor production costs.
