FIELD: fiber dyeing.

SUBSTANCE: invention provides an agent to color keratin fibers, in particular human hair, which agent contains, in a cosmetically acceptable carrier, p-phenylenediamine derivative substituted at one of its nitrogen atoms by R³ and AX, at the other nitrogen atom by R¹, R², and in phenyl radical by R⁴ and R⁵, where A represents alkylene with 1-6 carbon atoms optionally substituted by one or several hydroxy and halogen groups; X optionally substituted imidazolyl residue; R¹, R², and R³, independently from each other, represent hydrogen, С₁-С₄-alkyl, monohydroxy-С₁-С₄-alkyl, or polyhydroxy-С₂-С₆-alkyl; and R⁴, and R⁵, independently from each other, represent С₁-С₄-alkyl, С₁-С₄-alkoxy, monohydroxy-С₁-С₄-alkyl, polyhydroxy-С₂-С₆-alkyl, or halogen atom. The agent proposed provides coloration intensity with excellent sweat resistance and resistance against cold chemical hair-waving. Non-colored spot, when dyeing in combination with common dye precursors, slightly shifts to pale blue shade as compared with dyeing with p-tolylenediamine.
