FIELD: plastic working of metals without cuttings, possibly knurling cone threads.
SUBSTANCE: head includes housing in central opening of which holder with sleeve and roller holders with thread knurling rollers mounted in openings of roller holder in pivots are arranged. Ball retainers are arranged inside thread knurling rollers. Said ball retainers are mounted coaxially to thread knurling rollers and they are in the form of hollow cylinders with holes where balls are placed with possibility of rotation. Springs are mounted on pivots between thread knurling rollers and roller holders. Sleeve is in the form of truncated tetrahedral pyramid having inserts in its faces. Lengthwise guiding grooves are formed in pivots mounted by inclination angle relative to holder. Ball retainers are mounted with possibility of motion along guiding groves and engagement with thread knurling rollers.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of thread knurling, improved operational reliability of thread knurling head.
