FIELD: power supply and protection of multiple-cable lines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method that can be used in 6-35 kV insulated-neutral alternating-voltage networks involves comparison of zero-sequence currents through each cable of multiple-cable line, single-phase ground fault being identified by current through particular cable and line greatly differing from currents flowing through other cables.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of fault detection at reduced outage time.
