SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel compound, namely, to copper tetra-4-({4'-[(4''-octyloxybenzoyl)oxy]benzoyl}oxy)phthalocyanine of the formula: 
Proposed compound provides preparing the more saturated and uniform coloring on paraffin and polystyrene as compared with it's the nearest analogue with respect to structure and using. Proposed compound can be used as a lipid-soluble dye for staining hydrocarbons, waxes, polymeric materials and rubber.
EFFECT: improved and valuable properties of compound.
