FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves grouping mice when training conditional drinking reflex in tree-tier T-shaped labyrinth. The number of vertical columns, time required for reaching drinking bowl, freezing behavior time, the number of mistakes committed by an animal when looking for drinking bowl and the number of neurotic responses are recorded. Dividing into groups is carried out within 2 days long period in performing 2 runs every day with 1 h long pause with mean values determined in four runs being as follows. Vertical columns number is less than 12, the number of mistakes is equal to or less than 12, time to reach drinking bowl is equal to or less than 100 s, freezing behavior time is equal to or less than 3 s. No neurotic responses being observed, the animals are judged to be well-trainable. The animals having 60% of the indices exceeding the values are found to be trainable.

EFFECT: increased reliability in dividing mice into typological groups.
