FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed junction box is made of flexible insulating material whose insulating properties can be impaired due to partial discharges and can reduce in the course of switchgear operation; that is why we propose so-called measurements of partial discharges, including those in microwave band, to detect impaired insulating properties of material in advance. To this end junction box has grounded electricity conducting outer surface and electricity-conducting inner surface placed at collecting bus potential; junction box has coupling electrode embedded in insulating material. These measures provide for metering facility affording reliable and simple measurement of signals without building in device additional structural components requiring sufficient space for them; sensor (coupling electrode) of facility is disposed beyond switchgear gas space so that no work associated with gas is required during sensor replacement.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability and simplified design of signal measuring facility, facilitated replacement of sensor.
