FIELD: refrigeration equipment, particularly for automatic proportional regulation of evaporator filling with coolant in dependence of coolant vapor superheating at evaporator outlet and to resume coolant supply in refrigeration machine evaporator in the case of thermostatic expansion valve manometer system seal failure.
SUBSTANCE: thermostatic expansion valve comprises body with inlet and outlet chambers, manometer system with remote thermal phial, main and additional valves for coolant flow regulation in dependence of temperature of coolant vapor superheating in evaporator, rod, setting spring and mechanism, which controls initial spring force. Additional valve has side wall section, which is in direct contact with corresponding side surface of main valve orifice to create coolant flow blocking zone, which provides difference between main valve closing temperature and additional valve opening temperature and vice versa. Coolant flow blocking zone size is determined from length of additional valve side surface contact with main valve.
EFFECT: increased reliability and extended field of thermostatic expansion valve application due to possibility of thermostatic expansion valve usage after seal failure in manometer system and due to prevention of filler leakage from manometer system.
