FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used at designing and modernization of mean pressure cylinders of steam turbines in thermal power stations operating with intermediate overheating of steam. Proposed mean pressure cylinder of steam turbine includes housing with steam intake chamber connected through separator with working blades arranged after guide assembly having working blades with increased inter-rim clearance, shell arranged over working blade shroud with radial seal and sealing ring forming open axial clearance with front edge of shroud and axial clearance with end face of guide assembly connected through separator with lower pressure space. Constant or variable-section slot channels are made in shell between radial seal and sealing ring. Inlet sections of channels are arranged opposite to entry edge of working blade shroud. Abrasive product monitoring pickups are installed in lower part of separators. Proposed invention is aimed at decreasing wear of overshroud seal in first stage and leakage through seal owing to constant or variable section slot channels in shell between radial seal and sealing ring opposite to entry edge of shroud of working blades. Provision of abrasive product pickups makes it possible to use smaller capacity accumulating chamber in lower part of separators and to remove abrasive products from accumulator of separator, thus optimizing operating conditions of turbine by reducing getting of abrasive products from boiler into turbine.
EFFECT: reduced wear of seals and leakage through seals.
